The monthly rate of $5,500 (three-month minimum) includes a bi-weekly professional cleaning.

The Essex is your perfect fall and winter season cottage! You’ll enjoy plenty of sunshine as you soak up expansive views over the clear and pristine water of Haliburton Lake. The waterfront has a shallow area and dock for swimming and relaxing. Use the life jackets and canoe, kayak, or stand-up paddle board to explore the beauty of Haliburton Lake. Please note that the dock is removed in early-October in advance of the Winter season.
During the winter months, use the snowshoes to tour around Haliburton Lake. The lake is ideal for ice fishing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, cross country skiing, and more, with access to some of Ontario's best snowmobile and nordic trails just minutes away. And The Essex is just 20-minutes from Sir Sam's Ski resort, Ontario's second-oldest family owned resort, which offers skiing and snowboarding for all abilities on beautiful, rolling Canadian Shield terrain.
To help beat the summer heat on the water, the property includes a Rave Water Trampoline and Rave Water Woosh activity mat! The outdoor fun continues on land with two bikes that can be used to tour around Haliburton Lake.
One of the area’s most sought after year-round destinations, Haliburton Lake is situated just west of Algonquin Park. With clear, deep waters and a rocky base, the lake is a local gem known for its lake trout and smallmouth bass. A boat launch is located just minutes away from the cottage at the southwest end of the lake.
The interior and exterior of the property has been thoughtfully decorated with comfortable furniture combined with luxury finishes that provide for a true casual cool cottage for you to enjoy in its entirety.
The open plan living area with cathedral ceiling and three walkouts to the main deck boasts wall-to-wall windows that provide tons of natural light and views of the lake. The area is great for relaxing with ample seating, a wood burning stove, and a 50' flat-screen television with a stereo and Apple TV. Alongside the living area is a foosball table, record player, and Sonos speaker.
The kitchen and dining area come fully equipped with all that’s needed to create and enjoy a delicious meal to share with family and friends. Appliances include a 12-bottle dual zone wine cooler, fridge, stove, dishwasher, microwave, OriginalLine Nespresso machine, Keurig coffee maker, French press, SodaStream, toaster, kettle, and more.
The cottage accommodates a maximum of six guests. The main level has two luxurious queen-sized bedrooms. The upper level is where the primary bedroom is located, which includes a queen-sized bed and Juliet balcony. All bed linens and pillows are provided.
Alongside the living area on the main level, children will find ladder access to a cool loft area where they can escape to play games, watch TV, and stay entertained. The loft area includes two single beds.
There is one full bathroom on the main level with a stand-up shower and a second full bathroom on the upper level with a tub that acts as an ensuite for the primary bedroom. All bath towels, beach towels, shampoo, conditioner, and body wash are provided.
A large main deck off the living area and a second deck off the dining area surround the cottage for outdoor lounging, barbecuing, and dining. And the insulated patio cooler means you'll have no trouble maintaining a steady supply of ice cold beverages.

The WiFi is very reliable for a seamless work-from-home experience. Given that the lake house is surrounded by forest, the cell phone signal is weak, but there is a home phone available for use if needed.
The Essex is just 35-minutes from downtown Haliburton, a beautiful and picturesque township with many businesses and services.
The driveway into The Essex is plowed and maintained during the winter months, but it is slightly hilly. For this reason, an all wheel drive vehicle or SUV is recommended during the winter months.
