Summary: Great location and owner took care to check on our arrival. But if cleanliness is important to you, I would not recommend it. We stayed in the basement apartment which is accessed directly off the alley. The unit needed to be properly cleaned. Surfaces were dusty. Cabinet doors and drawers were dirty. The bathroom had grime and mold. The tub did not drain well, so a shower was also a simultaneous bath. Opening the entry door was an invitation to all the flies from the adjacent restaurant dumpsters. We killed at least a dozen flies the first night and several more the next day. The kitchen faucet was barely attached and required both hands to operate. Most of these issues could be easily remedied with a little effort. And If the cleaning standards were raised, I would stay here again because the neighborhood really is great. But I would never stay there again in those conditions.
