EXCLUSIVE use of a very private log-home Lakehouse, with wrap-around Verandah; two well-appointed Bunkies; screened-in Gazebo; Hot Tub; Outdoor Kitchen with BBQ & Campfire Pit. Features abundant wildlife on 17 acre reserve with good swimming & kayaking from Waterfront Dock with access to Big Rideau Lake. Only 15 km south of Historic Heritage Perth, Ontario, home of many museums, restaurants, boutiques, breweries, distilleries, coffee shops and the famous Stewart Park.
ABOUT MY SPACE & AREA: Welcome to my hilltop log-home, which is my principle residence. I live here year-round. It is also extremely private. It is surrounded by Beech, Birch & Cedar trees with an abundance of deer, birds, raccoons, snakes, frogs, turtles, hawks, owls and other wildlife. The lake is a very short 2 minute walk down the inclined driveway & across a narrow gravel lane. The 50 foot lake-frontage is a private, natural, modestly manicured property which is great for swimming & boating, with a small sandy beach access.
Murphy's Point Provincial Park is a very close neighbour, and some popular places to visit from the Lakehouse would be the picturesque towns of Merrickville, Perth, Smiths Falls, Newboro & Westport.
EXCLUSIVE ACCESS: Guests have EXCLUSIVE use of the Lakehouse, its property and the waterfront with free guest use of its docks, kayaks, pedal boat, etc. It is NOT SHARED with the owner or other guests during your stay.
CHECK-IN PROCEDURE: There is no 'self check-in'. Although entry, during your stay, is with an electronic key-pad code, (with your own assigned access code), you will be met & greeted, upon arrival, by your host, in person. All current virus-prevention protocols, (including proof of vaccination & the wearing of masks), will be followed during this 15-minute orientation tour of the property's features & amenities.
IMPORTANT BOOKING NOTE: When booking, please accurately state the number of adults, kids/infants and the weight & breed of the one pet in your group. Exact numbers of people & pet will affect pricing quote. Once your booking is accepted, you will be required to submit full names of everyone in your group, in your messaging. No 'surprise/unregistered' guests or pets, please!
PRICING INFO: Flat Nightly rate is $345 for up to 6 guests. Minimum stay is 3 nights, however during the summer months of June through August, the minimum stay is 7 nights. A cleaning fee of $125 is added to your quote. A flat fee of $60 for your one pet is payable in cash upon arrival.
ONE PET is permitted but must be leashed at all times when outdoors. Any damage caused by your pet will be deducted from your security deposit.
PRIVACY CONCERN: Loft Rooms are OPEN CONCEPT and therefore not "private". "Modesty curtains" can be hung.
TICK WARNING! As the property is rural, all guests, (particularly those with a pet), must be aware of the possibility of encountering ticks. Please research prevention methods.
CLEANLINESS & TIDINESS: A Special Thank You for your cleanliness & tidiness. I have been extremely lucky to have hosted over 265 guests between 2018 & 2021. Many of these great guests have left my home so clean & tidy that its as if they had never been there! Some have even left gifts in appreciation of how much effort & pride I take in presenting such a clean, tidy & orderly home for their visit. To those special guests, a sincere, heartfelt thank you for caring for my home so well. You will always be welcome to return... to clean my home again!
THE NEIGHBOURHOOD: The neighbourhood includes 6 other waterfront cottages & year-round homes, whose owners value & cherish the calm & serenity of the area. It is imperative that Lakehouse guests show them respect at all times...so, please, no loud parties or music. Always keep your pet on a leash, even on the waterfront.
