The apartment is the lower level of our Victorian home in the heart of Riverdale. We completely renovated our home in 2010 - gutted right back to the exterior brick wall! Ceiling height is 7’, the light is good - west facing, and the space is inviting and comfortable. The apartment has heated ceramic floors, pot lights, good natural light, a quiet, ductless air conditioner and full size washer and dryer.
With a separate and private entrance at the side, access is easy with your own code, no keys required. The spacious kitchen is fully equipped with IKEA cabinets, butcher block counter tops, stainless steel appliances, as well as a coffee maker & grinder, microwave, toaster oven, pots, pans, dishes...
The sitting room has a brand new smart television with cable and easy set up for your Netflix, Prime ... The pull-out sofa has a queen size mattress.
The bedroom also has a comfortable queen size bed, with quality linens, and a full wall of closets. With a nice deep soaker tub and a rain shower the bathroom is sumptuous with a heated, porcelain floor. We provide towels, a hair dryer, an iron and a small table top ironing board.
There is a small outdoor sitting area but we are a one minute walk to one of the largest parks in the city, complete with swimming pool, tennis courts, outdoor exercise area, ping pong tables, skating rink, hiking trails and an awesome tobogganing hill.
We are an eight minute walk to Broadview and Danforth where you’ll find a grocery store, subway station and many great shops and cafes.
At our corner, 10 doors away, there are 2 streetcar routes that both go up to the subway or downtown, the 504 along King St, (CN Tower, Toronto International Film Festival, theatre district) and the 505, which goes west along Carlton/College to the hospitals, University of Toronto, Little Italy, Kensington Market, Chinatown, the Annex, and finally to High Park.
Walking along the Danforth you’re in ‘Greektown’ and you’ll see the Danforth Music Hall, a large drug store, liquor and beer store, the biggest and best health food store in the city - ‘The Carrot’, gourmet shops - bakery, fish shop, butcher shop, clothing stores, some great book stores ...
Five minutes walk south of our home you’ll be on trendy Gerrard St. E. with lots of great restaurants, local pubs, a terrific chocolate shop, bakery, ice cream to die for, one of the best French restaurants in town... The 506 streetcar goes along Gerrard.
Ten minutes walk south will take you to Queen St East - Riverside, South Riverdale and Leslieville - where you’ll find a 24 hour streetcar - the 501, and the Broadview Hotel with fun rooftop dining, plus tons of terrific restaurants, lots of fun antique shops, fresh food shopping, the list is endless, east and west along Queen.
