This absolutely one of a kind family cottage is located on a huge waterfront property on Lake of Bays, nestled between the towns of Baysville and Dorset in beautiful Muskoka. The Scott Boathouse - cottage is situated on 5 wooded acres with over 600 feet of beautiful lakefront including a private swimming cove and large dock. There’s a sprawling lawn, stone patio, deck, gazebo, and pathway along the shore. Enjoy exclusive use of the docks, boathouse slip, and grounds. Perfect for children, parents and grandparents alike.
The cottage is available for minimum one-week stays and we only rent out to intergenerational families who will care for it as their own. It is not a place for couples and assorted singles. Sorry.
The Scott Boathouse is located just 2.5 hours north of Toronto, on historic Lake of Bays with easy access from the highway and conveniently situated across from the famous Bigwin Island Golf Club. You can easily enjoy golfing, canoeing, kayaking, fishing, swimming, boating, visiting the local farmers market, or the local Dorset Lookout Tower!
Enjoy endless summer days in bathing suits, with board games, bbqs, fishing rods, and books… brilliant sunsets, starry nights, forests, birds, walks, canoeing… the chance to unwind and play on land and water all day. A time to restore and relax with family, in a beautiful and peaceful natural setting.
With over 600 feet of private waterfront, your family will enjoy the calmness of this peaceful lake, and especially enjoy the perfect southwest exposure for sun all day and absolutely sensational sunsets. The large front lawn is great for tag and the narrow bridges to the boathouse overlook a sandy bottomed boat slip with shallow entry and is perfect for small children learning to swim. The kids will love to roast marshmallows in the living room’s grand central fireplace too! Explore the lake by canoe, drop in a fishing line, or just kick back and relax on the dock or hammock on the boathouse balcony. We’re truly excited to open the doors of our family cottage so that you and your family can craft the quality family memories that we did, spending our summers growing up here.
The main cottage features 4 bedrooms / sleeps 8. Has 2 bathrooms, 1 kitchen (3 refrigerators), open concept living room/dining room with original stone fireplace. 2 patios - BBQ, outdoor eating. Separate quarters are ideal for 2 families. Pets welcome. Wifi included. Duvets, pillows and blankets are provided; rental does not include bed linens or towels.
Please note: The Boathouse living room and balcony are also included, however not the Boathouse bedrooms. (Main cottage sleeping quarters only.) This is a quiet lake, no parties.
