**Open in the winter. We are one of the few cabins on Cedar Lake open year round. The up north winter experience should not be missed! Very peaceful and quiet, with easy access to snowmobiling trails. Walk out 10 ft from the house onto the frozen lake to cross-country ski or snowshoe (2 sets provided), or clean off the ice and ice skate with the fam!**
Relax and enjoy this gorgeous lakeside cabin great for families or small groups just 2 hours from the Twin Cities on beautiful Cedar Lake. A fun retreat in all four seasons, over 160 feet of lakeshore is just 50 feet from the lower level walkout -- perfect for swimming/jumping on the floating trampoline/kayaking/stand-up paddle boarding/windsurfing in the summer or riding up on snowmobiles/snowshoeing/cross country skiing in the winter.
The home is 1,800 sq ft on two levels and sleeps >8 with 3 bedrooms (all on the upper level) - 2 queen beds and four singles (2 bunkbeds). An additional pull-out couch is available in a mixed use room. Pack 'n play (x2, including crib mattresses and linens) also available for guest use.
This 2-acre property is west facing -- ideal for watching sunsets from the end of the dock or log swing on the water's edge. A private dock, floating trampoline and floating dock are great for fishing. A sandy and shallow lake bottom is family friendly and perfect for water activities. A fishing boat, 2 kayaks (one single and one double), stand-up paddle board, wind surf and snowshoes are available for guest use at no additional charge! A pontoon boat is available for daily rental from property manager next door.
Cedar Lake is 1,745 acres and ~105 feet deep at its deepest point. Cedar Lake is known for its fantastic fishing -- anglers can expect to catch a variety of fish including Walleye, Muskie, and Largemouth Bass. Public boat launch is less than 3 miles from the house. Cedar Lake is free of zebra mussels and other aquatic invasive species. Please help keep it that way!! Clean, drain, dry boats and trailers; it’s the law.
The town of Aitkin is just 6 miles away and has a full sized grocery store, liquor stores, hardware stores, restaurants, playground, disc golf course, and more. The town of Crosby - known for its exceptional mountain biking trails - is just 15 miles away and also offers multiple options for food and recreation. Brainerd is less than 30 miles away.
