White Iron Lodge provides room to entertain and make memories together. There is a large, fully stocked kitchen with new appliances and numerous eating areas, including a massive 12ft island with seating for 8 in addition to a separate dining area that seats10. Our bedrooms feature newer mattresses with soft bedding for a sound sleep. There are bathrooms on both levels of the Lodge, including a sauna and jacuzzi bathtub. For parents with young babies or children, we’ve created a small nursery adjacent to the master suite for more privacy and quiet time.
White Iron's lower level features our “Trees Lounge” bar/pub which includes plenty of cocktail glasses, shakers, and ambiance to enjoy your happy hours and watch the sunset over White Iron Lake! In addition, you’ll find a recreational room with ping pong, darts, and more! Feeling more chill? You can unwind after a busy day in the lovely sauna with eucalyptus oil or quietly read a book in the loft.
In today’s connected world, White Iron Lodge features a high speed WiFi mesh system. You’ll be able to stay in touch with work and use our dedicated work spaces. You can also login and stream your favorite programs via our smart TV’s or stay active on your phone (no matter how many teens there are!).
But why stay connected in paradise? Enjoy historic White Iron Lake just steps from the Lodge (on a level lot–no stairs or hills!). White Iron Lake encompasses 3,426 acres but is also connected to a chain for a total of 11,000 acres. Besides stunning views, and islands worthy of the Beargrease family, there is incredible fishing (walleye, perch, 40” northern pike–and more). You’ll find peaceful inspiration while fishing, boating, kayaking, canoeing, paddle boarding, and waterskiing through the ancient waters! At White Iron Lodge, your stay includes the use of a canoe, rowboat, kayaks, 2 person paddleboard, and a LiliPad.
If you need to rent a boat, you can easily rent a boat at "Your Boat Club" (Farm Lake location), which is a 4 minute drive from White Iron Lodge and a quick boat ride back to Lodge.
There are many things to do in and around Ely, MN–and White Iron Lodge is close to all of the action! The Superior National Forest (across the street) has 3.9 million acres of pristine hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling trails for recreation. Within the Forest is the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, which remains a US and Minnesota treasure! (You can even paddle into the BWCAW right from White Iron Lake.)
If you prefer to hit town to shop or dine, Ely is only 6 miles away from the Lodge. There are numerous attractions including the International Wolf Center, North American Bear Center, “The Root Beer Lady” Dorothy Molter Museum–and much more.
During the winter, you can experience Dog Sledding (3 miles down the road from White Iron Lodge), cross country skiing, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing.
