This beautiful executive cottage was built by an accomplished Canadian craftsman who specialized in the ancient technique of timber-frame building.
For this season (September 23 through November 30) the cottage is offered for rental as a quiet writing / working / resting retreat. Residents can enjoy an open concept shared living area (a fully-equipped kitchen, dining room and living room with a beautiful stone fireplace), two bedrooms (one in the loft, and one in the centre of the house, backing on the fireplace wall) and a 3-piece bathroom. This space can be kept warm with the heat from the fireplace.
The treed lot rests on the shores of a crystal-clear inland lake at the foot of an imposing cliff that rises ca. 300' vertically above the lake. It is situated in one of the most scenic regions of Northern Ontario that The Group of Seven immortalized in their paintings. The region is also among the top ten places in North America for pickerel fishing. Without being secluded, the property and the cottage are private and peaceful. There is an office desk in the open loft area, and another one in the loft bedroom.
A trading outpost, where basic grocery supplies may be purchased, is situated 1 km away from the cottage. Larger grocery stores are ca. 30 minutes away in the nearby towns.
Laundry facility is made available for stays of 14 nights or longer.
